Galapagos & The passage
It took us seven days to get to Galapagos, About 1000nm. Half way motoring, half way sailing. This area is infamous for lack of wind, also called The Doldrums.
Galapagos is famouse for its wildlife. There were sealions everywhere. If you didn´t kept your dinghy out of the water, somebody had a new favourite spot. The diving was amazing and we spotted several hammerhead sharks.
It´s very strict rules visiting Galapagos. You are not allowed to anchor wherever you want. We only had permission to visit one island (Santa Cruz) and had to stay in the same anchorage. When we left, we sneaked into the island Isabelle, where we stayed for three days.
We had 32000 nm ahead of us until we would set landfall next time. It took us 27 days to reach Fatu Hiva (Marquesas in French Polynesia)
